In 2015 only 14 Scottish beers were awarded the distinguished Great Taste stars. We brew six of them.

Formed in 1980, the Society of Independent Brewers (www.siba.co.uk) is now one of the most authoritative and respected bodies in the brewing industry, representing quality independent breweries across the UK.
Each SIBA region holds an annual beer competition at the end of the year to which members are invited to submit entries. The winners of the regional finals are then entered into the national final the following March. Judging is carried out as a blind tasting by industry professionals; brewers, tasters, journalists, resellers, etc. (Al and Nige have both been invited to judge at SIBA competitions).
Where SIBA represents the industry, the Campaign for Real Ale (www.camra.org.uk) represents the consumers. For over forty years, CAMRA has operated in Britain as an independent, voluntary organisation promoting real ale and pubs, and campaigning for consumer rights.
CAMRA members are passionate about real ale and craft brewing. As with SIBA, annual blind tasting competitions determine Scottish Champion Beers and Champion Beer of Britain.
Our local CAMRA group is Aberdeen, Grampian and Northern Isles. Their annual beer festival is a great place to try some of the finest ales from our region and beyond. All festival goers are asked to vote for their favourite beer. Windswept is always a firm favourite! In 2015 we were honoured to be chosen as the featured brewery.
