The team at Windswept have a common purpose; to brew some of the finest beer in Scotland. From the ingredients we use (and don’t use) to every part of the brewing, packaging and distribution process we focus on quality.
Our 10 barrel brewery can produce 3,000 pints per brew of hand crafted traditional and contemporary beers which have won a string of Scottish and UK awards.
Anyone who knows the feeling of pushing boundaries also understands that a great pint tastes best when you’ve earned it. For Al Read and Nigel Tiddy, their love of the outdoors was always balanced by the beer they enjoyed at the end of each day and that’s exactly what led the two former RAF pilots into the world of hops and grains.
The name was inspired by the windswept beaches of our location in Lossiemouth on the Moray coast where like-minded adventurers gather to pursue their outdoor passions whatever the weather. Al and Nigel felt strongly that the brand should capture this spirit of rugged adventure found here on the edge of the Scottish Highlands.
After all, a great pint tastes best when you’ve earned it.
When Nige & Al started Windswept Brewing in 2012 they employed just one other person, a brewer. We’ve grown a bit since then, and are always looking for energetic talented people to join the team. If you think you have what it takes, please get in touch.
WE LOVE BEER AS MUCH AS WE LOVE THE OUTDOORS.
Windswept Brewing Company started life in Lossiemouth in November 2012 after two former RAF pilots decided to pursue their passion for brewing. The resulting brewery can produce 3,000 pints per brew of hand crafted traditional and contemporary ales which have won a string of Scottish and UK awards.
